Cinema Scholar

Cinema Scholar is a newsletter about cinema and its study.

Distinct from the longer form articles found on my website, each issue of Cinema Scholar endeavours to spotlight:

Modelled after a Film Studies university syllabus, the texts and films featured in each issue are often related and speak to similar themes, whether that be philosophical, historical, aesthetic, cultural, political, or technological. Sometimes a text is selected to illuminate the accompanying film and the topics it explores, other times the roles are reversed, and the film clarifies an aspect of a text. In all cases, the overarching goal of this newsletter is to celebrate cinema and encourage the thoughtful consideration of the medium.
